My client was starting a new business as a barber. She had a very specific idea in mind (play on genders, simple and crisp but classy, art deco inspired), and my job was to try and make it happen. And here is the result!

Sling Meet Poster

My wife is starting a sling meet group in our area. If you don't know much about wraps and slings, and if Oscha, Girasol or Ellevill doesn't ring a bell (or if it does actually), you are more than welcome to join! Anyways, I made this poster using Inkscape and used colours from a specific wrap my wife absolutely loves. I hope you will have noticed it represents a mother "wearing" her baby!

Liberté Yarn Bombing stickers

My wife is a keen crocheter and one of her friends loves to "yarn bomb", which means cover public monuments and statues with their crochet creations. She asked me to create flashy stickers to put at the site of her "crimes". Made in Inkscape.

Get your scrum masters at work! No idea what I'm talking about? It's OK, neither do most people who use this buzzword. I made this poster in Inkscape.

Logo design for the Veggy Van

I wanted to support this small business based in France and so I designed a new and more modern version of their logo. This was made in Inkscape. NB: They make amazing vegan burgers !

The idea was to create a series of eye catching posters to encourage employees to provide great customer service. I declined this poster in different colours. I think they looked pretty cool. Made in Inkscape (open source alternative to Illustrator)

GPS Greenock Newsletter

This newsletter/magazine is my baby at IBM. I created the Newsletter, and not only the design. Until now, I am the guy responsible for its content and its look. I designed it in Scribus. I can't let you have a closer look as it contains confidential information, sorry.

Security Intelligence Poster

IBM produces education videos for its employees and one of the themes was Security Intelligence. (If you don't know what IBM does nowadays, google "IBM+CAMSS") Anyways, I was inspired by this theme and the icon of the course (a lock and a shield) and produced this poster (not used by IBM in any way, just for fun...). Why the colours? Because the theme is a bit boring for non techy people like me...

Concentrix Intranet Website

A part of the business of IBM Greenock has been purchased by Concentrix. Before I was made aware I was staying with IBM, I decided to take the initiative to work on some designs. This is what I did in Photoshop to show my potential new bosses what I could do for them.

Daddy Daughter hair factory logo

My wife's cousin is getting pretty famous with his "Daddy Daughter Hair Factory", but he didn't have a logo to represent his great initiative. So I made this in Inkscape and I hope it will help this great idea go around the world.

Cartoon

This is a cartoon I designed for a newsletter. I used Inkscape to design this (open source alternative to Illustrator). I'm not an illustrator, let's be honest, but it shows you I know my way around vector design software.

Interactive Map

This is an interactive map I designed in Inkscape (open source alternative to Illustrator), and coded in HTML, CSS, and Javascript. It was a fun project that we finally didn't use due to limited funds for touch screens.

All we need is love, so here's a poster I made to promote the events organised by the local social committee for Valentine's day.

I love people stories. This poster was a little "amuse gueule" for our GPS Newsletter. I designed it in Photoshop.

This is a poster I made for an external client to promote a new knowledge sharing tool.

Concentrix Newsletter

Concentrix again. I never actually worked for them, but I did prepare some designs for the people I thought would be my new bosses. This is a newsletter. I mainly based myself on our current newsletter, but with a fresher look to reflect the image of Concentrix. I used Scribus for this.

Logo propositions

I designed those logos for a technical pre-sales department at IBM. The first one is very simply the "T" of "techline" with an integrated circuit. The second one, which us my favourite, is the T of Techline extracted from a circle to form both the T of Techline but also a "e" for electronics. The font is ITC Lubalin, which is one of IBM's official fonts. The two bottom ones are highly stylised versions of the word "Techline" with a technical twist and fun but professional colours.

Poster for a concert

A friend of mine who is the director of a choir in France asked me for a poster to advertise a concert. The client went for a more traditional looking version although this was my favourite. I guess you can say it is a "Marmite" poster. I love Marmite.

This is a "tile" I made for one of my Facebook pages promoting vegetarianism.

This was a series of posters I designed for Comic Relief in 2013. I took the photos and used both Inkscape (Illustrator alternative) and Photoshop to design those. I also came up with the wording. It was really good fun to do.

My client had a very small budget for his very small business's very small marketing campaign. He's a great guitarist starting giving courses and asked me to create a poster that would be cheap to print and easy to resize as needed. I went for vector design in Inkscape and simply black and white. He was very happy with the result.

I wanted to give a little life to this small company's poster (which was a bit dull to be honest). I guess it's only fair when they're making our life in the office sweeter!

Death Row Poster

I'm a vegetarian and whilst I am not the kind or people who would shove his convictions down other people's throats, I am a strong believer in the animal cause. This is a wee poster I designed in Inkscape (vector). You might notice a bit of influence from Saul Bass in this.

Children Might Foundation - Final

This the final version of a logo I designed for a charity. The sun is taken from the Rwandan flag but also represents hope. It wasn't my favourite version but as we say in France, "the customer is always the King".

I tried myself at a 30's style poster with a modern touch. I used Inkscape to do this. This is not the final version. I used filters in Photoshop to give an older look to my poster, but I decided to publish this version on my website.

My wife and I decided to launch a very small business selling children books. It was a fun experience. And this is the logo I designed for it.

Menu

Well this project was a steep learning curve to me on many levels. Designing menus is certainly the thing I find most difficult in graphic design. Clutter and design don't work well together, and you have to be pretty clever to make it work anyway. I designed it in Scribus but also used Photoshop and Inkscape.

Logo for a Facebook page

This is a logo for the "Christians and vegetarians" Facebook page. It represents the link between Christian values (The Ichthys) and nature as well as the unity of creation. It also creates several Vs for "Vegetarian" and "Vegan". The earthy colours I went for were actually picked from different photos of forest sceneries.

Invitation card

I love getting printed projects from my clients. This was a simple looking invitation that was actually more complicated to put together than it looks. The customer already had a branding in place, and I needed to work along the lines of what they already had and add a modern touch. The customer was delighted. I used Scribus, Inkscape and Photoshop to design this.

A fun poster I created for a friend who directs the choir at his church. I tried to go beyond my usual style and cleverly use layers and filters in Photoshop. I think it worked. My friend was very happy with it.

Employee Profile

Employee profile template. I followed IBM GPS guidelines and added my own touch, especially with the Your Story logo. Designed in Inkscape. I suppose you are now aware I like this programme. Well yes, and I'm proud of it.
